Shopping Gripe

I really, really love shopping for clothes. . . when I have time to try things on. However, it drives me NUTS because sizes don't seem to mean ANYTHING anymore.

I bought a pair of winter white slacks because my old ones--size 20 women's--were too big. I finally found some at Penney's. They were a perfect fit in waist AND length--size 18 misses. So, since those fit, I bought a pair of gray slacks AND two skirts. I didn't try them on because they were all the same brand, and the slacks were even the same style. I get them home and the gray slacks are L-O-N-G. The two skirts don't fit around my waist. So, they have to go back.

I wanted a pair of flannel jammies for lounging around the house. I pick up an 18-20 (women's 1X) and try them on. . . they're HUGE. They're big to the point where they wouldn't stay up around my waist. I end up with a 12-14 (women's large).

And just to see if they can COMPLETELY push me over the edge that day, I try on shirts and shoes. One shirt is a XL misses, one is a 3X juniors, and one is a 1X womens. . . and they all fit the same. Shoes? Never did get any of those. Tried to find a pair of black leather clogs. Oh, I found them. . . only nothing that fit. Too narrow, too long. . . .

AARGH!!!!
