This & That
Geez . . . didn't realize it had been so long since I posted. Of course, I don't think anyone other than me read this anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. Talking to oneself is considered a bit odd, but I'm not sure about typing thoughts to oneself. I'll have to look into that matter.
We're into week SIX of the school year. The year is going very, very well so far. My classes have been really good! I haven't had to raise my voice all year. Maybe it's due to the fact that I really hit procedures and expectations hard this year and am working really hard to be consistent. I don't typically have discipline issues, but I do have times when things don't go as smoothly as I wish they would. This year it's been smooth sailing. Who's to complain?
Of course, the year's still young.
It's only 18 days until fall break. Woo-hoo!!! We're not taking a trip anywhere . . . partly because I'm still reeling from the $1500 tooth removal Chad had this summer, and partly because I hate being on the run my WHOLE VACATION. We are, however, going to Comedy Off Broadway to see Hal Sparks one night. I think he's funny on those VH-1 shows, and I absolutely LOVED the show Queer As Folk--he was Michael on that show. Our anniversary is also that week, October 14th. We'll be married six years.
Speaking of Queer As Folk . . . Gale Harold, who played Brian, is staring in Fox's new show, Vanished. I've been hooked on that so far. I'm not a big TV person . . . at least in terms of "can't miss" shows, but I've been planning around Vanished and House.
I've got the house to myself this week. Chad went to Harrodsburg this morning. The band's setting up tonight, so he's staying in town until Friday morning. It's SOOO far to drive to set up from here, and now that his cousin is playing with the band, the two of them can ride together from Harrodsburg to Waynesburg. I'm not sure how my tolerance of rednecks will be this weekend. Some days I don't so much mind them because they're fun to watch. Other times I want to smack them. I'll hope for entertaining. Last time Goober decided to break up a fight by spraying pepper spray on them . . . while they were fighting in front of the fan . . . and cleared the building. Moron.
I saw my oldest friend tonight! Well, she's not the OLDEST, but the one I've known the longest. She and I were best of friends from second grade to middle school. We were together all the time and had some really great times. She was like a sister to me. Unfortunately, once we got to middle school, we sort of went our separate ways. Friends and activities changed, and we just grew apart. I do think about her a lot, and it was nice seeing her again.
Well, I guess it's time to close up for the night. I've got a few papers to grade before I turn in for the night.
