Uggg . . . stomach bug.

I hate being sick. Yuck!!!

I can work with a sinus infection. I can work with laryngitis. I can work with a sprined ankle. I can work with rashes . . . nausea . . . pink eye . . . fever . . .

But I cannot work with vomiting and diarrhea. No way, no how.

I've been out a lot lately, and I tried my best to go in, but I didn't stay long.

Last week we were off Monday & Tuesday. I was out Wednesday & Thursday because Dad had surgery. I worked Friday, but it was career day, so there wasn't much "work" going on for most of the day. Sunday-Tuesday I was at the Title I conference in Owensboro. Wednesday I worked, but felt a little crappy. Yesterday I had a fever, nausea, and diarrhea. Decided to go on to work. Bad idea. About 10 minutes into second period I decided to leave.

I went home and took a nap, and then I went to the doctor. He gave me medications for the nausea & diarrhea, plus an antibiotic. Then I went home and took another nap.

Of course, I had to be at work at 6:00 because the school board was meeting in my room to look at all my technology gadgets. Figured it would look kinda bad for the superintendent, school board, principals, central office people, and newspaper reporters to come to my room and me be a no-show. So . . . there I was.

I crashed when I got home, and I slept until noon today. I'm feeling somewhat better, but I think I might need a nap after while. I've got to get my hair cut at 4:30 . . . and I've cancelled it once, so I really, really need to go.

Word of advice . . . avoid this stomach bug!!

This one is, however, better than the last one I had that hit at work. It was a few years ago, and I felt bad all morning . . . and then third period I got very sick. If there's anything worse than having to sprint down the hall and hug a public toilet, it's having to do that and then hearing, "Mrs. Hill? Are you OK?" and looking up to see several horrified faces staring at you. No, no, I'm not OK. At least they checked on me instead of taking over the classroom for party time.
