Early Vacation

I got a few extra vacation days this week. We've had a ton of kids out sick lately, and they finally decided to cancel school on Tuesday. We're out the rest of this week. I'd just as soon have finished up, but I understand why they had to cancel. I don't like being out before Christmas. Things are already hectic, and then being out just puts us more behind. Ah, well . . .

I brought a bunch of tedious "need to do" things home with me, but I haven't done anything school-related yet. I guess I'll get to that tomorrow.

Yesterday Chad and I ran some errands and went to prayer meeting. We don't normally do to Wednesday night services, but we ended up there last night. There were only 15 of us there because they were also having nativity practice and choir practice.

Today I've been creative, and I did some painting. I finished this piece, and I'm in the process of working on another. I love painting, but I don't do it much.

I also did some cooking. Chad helped me make mice for finger foods tomorrow night for the live nativity. They didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped. I had dark chocolate for dipping the cherries, but I only found milk chocolate for the kisses . . . so we have two-toned mice. They chocolate also didn't set well, so some of them have "skirts" of chocolate.
