Bored & Nosy

Bored and nosy are an interesting combination. I worked part of the morning on getting my lesson plans together, and then I topped off all the aquariums (4 of them). So, that meant the only things to do were. . . watch football with Chad or grade personal narratives. I started to read the papers--while sitting IN the living room where Chad was watching TV. Only problem is that I got really sleepy reading papers, so I gave up and decided to look around on the computer.

Ever google yourself? I did. That got boring fast, so I ended up messing around with my web page and the settings here. I ended up stumbling onto a ring of teen blogs from Irvine. Pretty entertaining reading. Kinda fun seeing the kids out of school mode. Plus it's nice to see them once they're out of middle school mode. Middle school is NOT kind to most people.

They're all talking about what they're doing over the weekend and who they like. Gee. . . you're think they'd talk about important stuff like we adults do in our blogs. LOL

Back to reading. . .

Too Much to Do

I really love my job, but sometimes I get so frustrated with the non-teaching crap that I could scream. Instead of meeting us to death, throwing more "stuff" at us, or testing the kids to death, how about leaving me alone and letting me do my job?

Thanks, I feel better now. :-)

Trick or Treat

Chad and I were all ready for the trick-or-treaters on Monday night. . . and nobody came!! Well, I take that back. Our neighbor's grandchildren stopped by. There are three of them. . . only two are too old to trick-or-treat. One just stopped by to talk and the other one was taking her brother around to houses. Then my uncle dropped by with his two girls. One is 7th grade and the other is 9th grade. Oh. . . and the 8th grade boy from next door came over with is cousin just to say hello. We might have had 5 other kids for trick or treat.

So, we've got this HUGE amount of candy left over. I'll probably take it to work and let the kids have it. . . like they need any more sugar!

They had a "trunk or treat" at the high school track on Monday night, so everybody went there. . . which left all of us "regular folks" stuck home with a ton of candy. :-(

We gave up early and came inside and watched TV. I tried to go to bed early, but I didn't get to sleep all night. At 3:30 the phone rang. Last time the phone rang at that time of the morning, Chad's dad had a stroke and they were going to the hospital. This time it was some jerk asking me if I knew the muffin man. Of course, he called right back. . . with heavy breathing that time. The third time they just giggled, and I told them my husband said to quit calling and bugging us. the fourth time, I let Chad talk to them. They didn't call back after that. :-)

We got caller ID put on the phone on Tuesday. We'd been too cheap to have it put on before now, but we decided to have it installed. I don't get many weird phone calls from kids, but I do get some from parents sometimes. No more guessing about who's calling!

Nice Weather

I'm really enjoying all this nice weather! Of course, anytime they tempterature is above 60, I pull out the capri pants and sandals. I'm SOOO hot natured it's not even funny. It looks really pretty outside today, too. Of course, most of the stuff I need to do is inside stuff. Figures.
