Three days down. . .

Well, we've made it three of our five days this week!

It's supposed to be warm today, near 70. I broke out a short-sleeved shirt today. There are lots of kids in warm-weather wear today. You know what that means. . . time to monitor skirt lengths and remind them that shorts aren't permitted.

Hopefully I can get to bed earlier tonight. We got home late last night because I went with Chad to band rehearsal. They really weren't able to get a whole lot done, which was aggravating since we drove 120 miles round trip to get there. Oh well. . . at least they worked on their singing and I got some papers graded.

We also got their next playing date, March 11. That's good it was added because they've not played much lately, and that's the money Chad uses to pay the utilities. He's the only member without a non-music job as well.

I think I'll cook supper tonight. We always eat out on Mondays because Chad has students until 6:00 or 6:30. Last night we stopped and ate on the way to rehearsal. Don't know what I'll cook, but I'm in the mood for something other than restaurant food. Some people think I'm really weird, but I just don't really like eating out.

A whole week?

I might actually work a whole week this week. Week before last I worked one day. We had snow Monday & Tuesday, I was out on Wednesday & Thursday with Dad's surgery, so I only worked Friday. Last week we had snow on Monday & Tuesday again, so we had a three-day week.

Looks like we'll get in an entire week this time. I do enjoy a good snow day, but I hate making them up and it really gets the kids off their routine.

Brrrr. . . .

Yesterday morning our furnace decided to stop working. Actually I'm quite pleased that it decided to stop working THIS weekend because it usually chooses to quit during frigid weather. Since it wasn't too cold yesterday, we managed just fine overnight. I did have to put on socks, and Chad was nearly completely under the covers this morning. It was 58 when we got up for church this morning. (We normally keep it at 64, so we do like it on the cool side.)

It had dropped to 54 by the time we got home from my parents' house this evening. Now we've got the gas logs burning in the living room. We've lived here since 2000, and this is the first time I've seen the logs lit! They're really pretty. We've managed to get it up to 60 in here, so maybe I won't feeze while taking my shower.

The furnace guy comes tomorrow. Woo-hoo!
