Santa's Early

Santa made an early stop by our house yesterday afternoon. Chad's getting back into playing Santa after being out of it for a few years. He did have a velvet suit, but he sold it when we got married. This suit is an old one--50's or 60's--but it looks pretty good. I had to alter the pants some, but it fits pretty nicely now. He's being Santa for his home church's Christmas party, his family Christmas meal, and anywhere else anyone needs him.

Cross-Stitch

I can't wait to get back into my cross-stitching. I only get to do it in the summer and winter since that's when I have most of my free time. I'm getting ready to start a new baby one for the teacher across the hall from me. Her baby is due in February. I'm going to start working on the piece this afternoon.

I've been feeling a bit crafty this week. Thursday I altered Chad's santa suit. This morning I made some jewelry, and this afternoon I'm going to cross-stitch. Now, if I could just find time to scrapbook, I'd be in business.

New Clothes

I know that I just recently posted about having TOO MANY clothes, but I've been shopping again. If you remember, my "extra" clothes are ones that I can't wear anymore. Tuesday I went to New York & Company and bought some really cool stuff. I was SOOO excited to be able to wear stuff from there again. I always loved that store in my "pre-Prednisone weight" days.

Snow Day!!!

We got out at 1:00 on Thursday because the freezing rain/sleet was on the way. Of course, part of our kids don't eat until after 1:00, so we had to have a major rush on the lunch line. Those of us with classes during that time had to take the kids to lunch. Those without a class during that time had to help out in the cafeteria serving line or sitting area.

Although I hate to miss days before Christmas break, I wasn't too disappointed to think that I'd miss on Friday since the snow was predicted. At 6:00 I turned on the television to make sure that Estill was out of school. . . and NO! Darn it! So, I got up, looked outside, and the roads were completely clear. . . and DRY. So, I decided to get a few more minutes of sleep, so I reset the clock for 6:30 and got back in bed. . . only I didn't sleep because I was pouting because I had to go to work. When the clock went off the second time, Chad told me to try the TV one more time. And that time we WERE on there. Woo-hoo!! I made sure to see it on all three stations just in case I was seeing things. Finally I was satisfied and settled back down for good. I slept until almost 10:00. Ahhhh. . . .

Later in the day Chad and I went shopping. I had a shirt to take back to Lexington, and Chad had a coupleof things to pick up there, too. That's the good thing about living in a county with mountains. . . the mountain roads can be bad enough to get us out of school, but here close to town we're good to go. :-)

Impluse buy du jour. . .

. . . OK. . .

So I'll admit that I sometimes visit QVC & HSN. Normally I don't buy anything, but I did this time.

Now this is my hair. I can finally manage to get it into a sorry excuse for a pony tail. That meant that I can finally wear a hair piece. The new piece matches quite well, don't you think?

I gave it a test run when we went to supper and the dollar store tonight. I can't tell if Chad likes it or not. I think he kind of does. . . although he didn't go in either place with me. LOL

I like the short piece, but I don't like the long one. It's supposed to be the same color as the other one, but it's too dark for my hair.

New Fish

That's Chief Blackfish, a black moor, on the left and Pepper, a calico fantail, on the right.

Then we have Lionel, a lionhead, at the top. The big bruiser at the bottom is Kirby. He's my big guy now that Rocky is gone.

I've added new fish to our "family". I lost my oldest goldfish, Rocky, over a month ago. He was around 6 years old. Don't know what happened to him. I also lost two other goldies, Goldie--a fantail and Muttley--a chocolate oranda within the same month. Don't know what happened to them either. Sigh. . .
